The New Stick Game - Episode 2

March 8th, 2018

There were a lot of laws that were proposed that never got passed.  Most of them tended to favor one group or the other. The first one involve being able to admit more students into a group so that those that weren’t around the last time we played could be with their friends. One student tried to secede from his table and form his own table.  The table had a communist economy and would not give him the money he needed to separate citing that they did not want to use money for something that was unnecessary. One group tried to make a law, but got so frustrated that they couldn’t Get the law passed that bae decided as a group to quit the game. They decided to turn in their sticks and not participate. This is not an option in my class, so they weren't allowed to, however this was the end of class so they have some time to think about their decisions. We also are going to add some more incentives in place to make the stick game more worthwhile for them. And real life we have things we can do with money for our personal enjoyment, but in the stick game they can only use the sticks to make laws and pay taxes. So we're going to find some other extrinsic rewards for having sticks.
