The new Stick Game - Episode 5

March 16th, 2018

Okay, so today happened. Yesterday, the top scoring students got to choose what happened in class, they chose a movie. Most of the students didn't watch the movie but that wasn't the point. They also got pizza. I did this to kind of give an example of what you could possibly have that was worth having sticks for. Now Pizza is going to be 50 sticks if a group wants it.This is only on Thursdays though. I want to make it worth their while to have a lot of money so that they will keep fighting for it. Otherwise, there's no point in having it. One team was so upset that there was a team with over 200 sticks and nobody else did, that they proposed the law that that team was the only team that had to pay taxes and had to pay 25 sticks every 15 minutes while no one else had to pay taxes. Because everyone else was mad at that team, the law passed. Then that team, despite losing the vote for the previous law, proposed a law that said that no law could specifically target a particular table. The other teams thought about how they might be targeted specifically in the future and decided to pass it even though it negated the law they had just passed. This was the first Civil Rights bill I had seen in this group. There was another court case over  a member of one team staying too long in the vicinity of another team. While that court case was going on, other people kept trying to steal sticks from each other and chaos started to happen in the classroom. After everyone got settled we decided to move the sticks to a banking system where the students don't actually touch the sticks they just said they owe certain sticks and the facilitator moves and sticks and takes what they need in front of the different groups so that they can see what's happening. This is to cut down on the chaos that happens when students try to steal from each other.
